CONCERT BY CANDELIGHT - ELENA ZHUKOVA - JOANNA OKOŃ (GUEST)

Joanna Okoń – violinist and graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw. She further developed her artistry under the guidance of Konstanty Andrzej Kulka and Marina Jaszwili, as well as at the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra’s International Orchestra Academy in Attergau, where she worked with conductors including Sir Neville Marriner.

She has collaborated with Concerto Avenna and Sinfonia Varsovia, performing at prestigious concert venues and festivals around the world. As a chamber musician, she has appeared at Carnegie Hall in New York and in Shanghai. She is the creator of projects devoted to Polish music, including the album Polish Impressions. She is also a teacher at the State Music Schools Complex No. 1 in Warsaw.



Elena Zhukova – Ukrainian pianist and harpsichordist, Associate Professor at the Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music in Kyiv. She furthered her studies with distinguished musicians including Philippe Entremont, Pierre Hantaï and Władysław Kłosiewicz.

She is a laureate of international competitions, including First Prize at the Art of the XXI Century competition and major awards at the Wanda Landowska International Harpsichord Competition in Bari. She performs as a soloist and chamber musician, specialising in piano and early music. She has appeared at festivals including Cembalissimo, Olavsfestdagene and the Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht.
