Candidate’s Concert for the 18th Frederic Chopin International Piano Competition

Presto Concert Agency invites you to a recital of one of the three candidates for this year's International Piano Competition Fryderyk Chopin, who will perform for you in the Fryderyk Concert Hall.

Julia Łozowska, a student of prof. Joanna Ławrynowicz, one of the greatest contemporary pianists in Poland and in the world.

She was born in 2001 in Warsaw, Poland. She started playing the piano at the age of six by the Suzuki method with prof. Marzena Jasińska. She graduated from the Z. Brzewski Secondary Music School in Warsaw in the piano class of prof. Joanna Ławrynowicz-Just (diploma 
with a distinction). Now she is studying at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music with the same professor.

She has won many prizes in national and international piano competitions, including the Grand Prix at Polish Chamber CEA Competition (Toruń – Poland, 2018), Grand Prix, the first prize and the special prize founded by prof. Elizabeth Stefańska at XXII Polish Piano Tournament of Halina Czerny-Stefańska (Żagań - Poland, 2017), Grand Prix at the International Piano Festival "Chopin and the French Composers” (Siedlce - Poland, 2015), first prize at XX Polish Piano Competition (Konin - Poland, 2018), first prize at XII International Chopin Competition (Narva – Estonia, 2018), first prize and the award for the best performance of F. Chopin piece in the “Chopin Laurel” competition (Velky Novgorod – Russia, 2017), first prize at the XIII Polish Piano Festival „Chopin’s Young Interpretations” (Konin-Żychlin - Poland, 2016), first prize at the A. Wesołowska and H. Wesołowska-Madetko National Piano Competition (Katowice - Poland, 2015), the first prize and the award for outstanding performance of J. S. Bach piece in the National Competition for Young Pianists (Suwałki - Poland, 2015), first prize in the V Halina and Louis Stefański Chopin Piano Tournament of prof. Elizabeth Stefańska (Cracow - Poland, 2014), second prize at IV International Piano Competition (Ville de Gagny – France, 2019), second prize at IX Competition for Piano Music School Students EPTA (Cracow – Poland, 2018), second prize at VIII International Chopin Competition (Budapeszt – Węgry, 2018), twice second prize in the International Chopin Piano Competition for Children and Youth in Szafarnia – Poland (2016, 2013) including special prize from the National F. Chopin Institute, special prize from Rector of the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz and the Polish Consul in Navarra, Basque Country and La Rioja, second prize at the VI Moritz Moszkowski International Piano Competition "Per aspera ad astra" (Kielce - Poland, 2015), second prize at the VI International Chopin Competition for Children (Jelenia Gora - Poland, 2014), seventh prize at the I International Chopin Competition for Young Pianists in Beijing (China, 2016), as well as distinction in the VI International Piano Competition in the memory of Vera Lotar-Shevchenko (Yekaterinburg - Russia, 2016). She has been a semifinalist at VI Asia-Pacific International Chopin Competition (Daegu - South Korea, 2018).

She performed at the main concert halls in Poland: National Philharmonic in Warsaw, 
the Baltic Philharmonic in Gdańsk, the Lower Silesia Philharmonic in Jelenia Góra, Witold Lutosławski Polish Radio Studio, Academy of Music in Katowice, the Belvedere and Royal Castle in Warsaw and the Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music including solo recitals in NOSPR in Katowice, Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, Żelazowa Wola, Royal Łazienki, Chopin Centre in Szafarnia, Chopin’s Museum (project – Young Talents) in Warsaw as well as Conservatory of Music in Pamplona – ​​Spain. She has been a laureate of prestigious “Stage of the young” 52 Festival of Polish Piano in Słupsk (Poland, 2018). She performed as the youngest pianist during Chopin Recitals in Royal Łazienki in 2018. She performed at the Gala Concert 
of BISMA for the best participants of the Masterclasses in the Concert Hall of the Music Academy in Łódź.

She received several scholarships from the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (prestigious grant for young musicians „Young Poland” and for artistic achievements), as well as scholarship from the Prime Minister of Poland, the Artistic Education Centre, The Concert Artists' Promotion Trust from USA for passion to music, Polish Children’s Fund and J. Elsner Foundation. In 2019 she received the Main Prize of Sinfornia Varsovia Artistic Scholarship.
