Eugeniusz Chudak Morzuchowski

Achievements

Eugeniusz Chudak-Morzuchowski – was born in Swiecie in 1964. Between 1979-84 he joined the piano class of Jerzy Libera in Poznań. In the years 1984-1989 he studied at The Fryderyk Chopin Warsaw Academy of Music with Regina Smendzianka and Jerzy Romaniuk as mentors. In 1997 he won a scholarship of The Fryderyk Chopin Society in Warsaw. Master classes with Tatiana Szebanowa, Andrzej Jasiński and Jerzy Godziszewski followed. He took part in international competitions in Geneva and Bolzano.

Between 1989-94 artist was engaged as a pianist in The National Philharmonic in Warsaw. This co-operation motivated him to initiate his own concert agency. It organises, as well as The National Philharmonic, concerts for schools all over Poland. During these concerts the artist could share his enthusiasm and love to music with young people. He particularly liked to present authentic folk music, inviting folk groups from Poland and other European countries. It has created an opportunity to get to know better and to appreciate very original classical instruments, which roots go to folk music, like the dulcimer, the domra, the bandura. The artist has popularised these instruments to Polish audience performing with very known artists such as: Natalia Arutiunowa, Tatiana Szumakowa, Nikołaj Mariecki and other during many concerts and festivals e.g. in The Rzeszów Philharmonic Hall or during The 5-th International Festival of Organ and Chamber Music. The pianist’s recitals enriched with a spirit of authentic folk music has given the artist specific look at the essence of music and a chance of unrestrained artistic creation.

Eugeniusz Chudak-Morzuchowski has given many concerts, both in Poland and abroad (Germany, England, Thailand, Bielorussia, the Ukraine). He appeared both as a soloist and with orchestras; made recordings for the Polish Radio and Television.

The artist’s repertoire includes more than a half of all the works composed by Frederick Chopin; works of other composers, plus twelve piano concertos.
